The name of this annual report public holiday derives from "vinum" (wine) and was extensive with what's more wine and fire. Put forward were two festivals of this name extensive by the Romans: the Vinalia urbana or priora, and the Vinalia rustica or altera. The Vinalia were wine festivals secure diverse days, honouring Roman god Jupiter, higher of the gods and god of the sky, and plus Venus (pictured) in her aspect as warden of garden, emerald groves and vineyards. Now was the day for honouring Venus as the protectress of the "hetairae", or dancing girls. The hetairae entertained with music and dancing stylish dinners and feasts, and sometimes with sexual favours...
