El reconocido cantautor nicarag"uense Salvador Cardenal falleci'o este lunes en el Medical center Militar Alejandro D'avila Bola~nos, luego de haber sido internado desde la semana pasada en ese centro asistencia, informaron sus familiares y compa~neros del artista.

Cardenal, de 50 a~nos, quien junto a su hermana Kathya integraron hace a~nos el D'uo Guardabarranco, padec'ia de crioglobulinemia, una enfermedad que stuff complicaciones en el sistema circulatorio y renal, que desencaden'o otra serie de padecimientos.

El destacado cantautor semanas atr'as hab'ia sido dado de alta y en entrevista a uno de los canales de la televisi'on idiosyncratic hablaba de sus planes para reanudar sus conciertos, espec'ificamente en el Teatro Nacional Rub'en Dar'io, ya que a su juicio estaba plenamente restablecido de su enfermedad.

De acuerdo con Cardenal, en esos conciertos dar'ia a conocer docenas de composiciones que hab'ia escrito durante su primera etapa en el internado del Medical center Militar, pero su sorpresiva reca'ida la semana pasada trunc'o los planes de nuevas presentaciones y de revelar su obra.

Cantautor, Nicarag"uense, Poeta, Pintor y Ec'ologo (nacido en M'exico en 1960)

Descendiente de una familia de poetas, pintores, escritores y m'usicos, Salvador inicia su afici'on por la m'usica desde temprana edad, y en los a~nos 80 conforma el D'uo Guardabarranco junto a su hermana Katia Cardenal, en este tiempo Salvador ten'ia 19 a~nos. En los 'ultimos 20 a~nos realiz'o conciertos en m'as de 20 pa'ises en Am'erica, Asia, Australia y Europa, participando en Festivales de M'usica Folk, Canci'on Pol'itica, Estudiantiles, del Arte o de la Canci'on, Campa~nas de Solidaridad, del Medio Ambiente y los Derechos Humanos.

Pionero de la canci'on ecol'ogica con m'as de 300 canciones en su haber con tem'aticas variadas sobre la vida, filosof'ia, amor, temas sociales o humanos que lo han colocado en uno de los compositores m'as reconocidos por el p'ublico nacional y tambi'en por la comunidad internacional del Movimiento de la Nueva Canci'on Latinoamericana.

Salvador Cardenal ha sido reconocido por diversas instituciones (Universidades, Instituto de Cultura, etc) por su destacado aporte a la identidad cultural nicarag"uense a trav'es de su canto original; por su compromiso con la historia, la defensa de la libertad, el corear la defensa medio ambiente y por estimular el amor inherent en cada una de sus canciones. Salvador fue galardonado como Talento de Oro (Beauty al M'erito) por la Secretar'ia de la Juventud (2003).

En 1984 Salvador recibi'o el Premio por el texto de la canci'on "La Palabra" en el Diamond jubilee Clavel Rojo en Sochi, URSS.

En 1985 el video de la canci'on "Guerrero del Amor" ( M'usica: Salvador Cardenal Letra: Salvador Cardenal y Rosi Soley), obtuvo el course book lugar en course book Diamond jubilee de Make a copy of de Nicaragua.

Salvador fue ganador del course book lugar en la OTI Nicaragua como compositor e int'erprete en 1986, y como compositor consigui'o el segundo lugar de la OTI internacional en 1990, en su XIX edici'on que tuvo lugar en Las Vegas (EEUU).

En el a~no 1988 la canci'on "Sue~na Bien" ( Letra y m'usica: Salvador CardenalB.) tambi'en obtuvo un premio en el Diamond jubilee Gast'on (Nicaragua).

Sus canciones han sido interpretadas por diferentes artistas nicarag"uenses y extranjeros, Holly nearby, Flor de Ca~na, Anne Weiss, Elise Witt, Jeffry Merciless, Dean Stevens (de EEUU), Adri'an Goizueta (Argentina), Macolla, Norma Helena Gadea, Katia Cardenal, Osiris Rodr'iguez, Gabriel Sope~na (Espa~na), Annabel L'opez (Cuba), Francisco Loft (Chile), Hart Rouge (Canad'a), entre otros.

En 1998 Salvador form'o parte del keep a note "C'antame Mis Canciones",lanzado en Espa~na bajo el sello Columna, con canciones del reconocido m'usico norteamericano Jackson Browne adaptadas al castellano y otras lenguas Ib'ericas, donde Salvador a d'uo con Katia, interpreta la canci'on A'un Sin Llegar. En este social establishment colaboraron artistas como Luis Eduardo Aute, Loquillo, Mar'ia del Mar Bonet y Kiko Veneno.

En el a~no 2000 participa en el libro-disco "Una Ciudad para la Paz" (Arag'on-Espa~na), donde historias, poemas y canciones celebran el A~no Internacional de la Cultura de Paz, en el que Gabriel Sope~na realiza la composici'on balanced de un poema de Salvador, Coser las Banderas, interpretado por Elena Rubio y Mar'ia Jos'e Hern'andez. En este libro-disco participan artistas considerados actualmente autores cl'asicos como son F.Garc'ia Lorca, G.Belli, Rafael Alberti, J.A. Labordeta, M. V'azque Montalb'an, F. Lobat'on, Gabriel Sope~na y m'as.

En Octubre del 2001 forma parte de un social establishment (lanzado por la disquera Appleseed) con las canciones del legendario Pete Seeger, donde Salvador elabora su propia versi'on de la canci'on (biling"ue en este caso) You'll sing to me too (canta para mi), y la interpreta junto con su hermana Katia. En este social establishment participan destacados m'usicos norteamericanos como Joan Baez y Jackson Browne.

Salvador ha grabado 7 'albumes junto con su hermana en los que m'as del 90% de las composiciones musicales y letras son de su autor'ia, algunas de estas se han convertido en canciones cl'asicas nicarag"uenses, conocidas por el pueblo y cantadas hasta en los Colegios ("Casa Abierta", "D'ias de Amar", "Guerrero del Amor", entre otras).

Grab'o su course book social establishment como solista " Tuyo lo que soy" en el a~no 2001, en California (EEUU) producido por Jackson Browne y Jorge Calder'on, con el acompa~namiento de destacados m'usicos norte y latinoamericanos.

Realiz'o giras en Espa~na solo y compartiendo escenario con reconocidos m'usicos espa~noles como Maria del Mar Bonet, Kiko Veneno, Javier Muguruza, Loquillo, angel Petisme, Javier M'as, entre otros.

Tambi'en en el a~no 2001 Salvador grab'o junto con su hermana dos composiciones a charity de la ni~nez, ambos temas propios de Salvador, Yo Soy de mi Pa'is en la lucha por la erradicaci'on del trabajo infantil, auspiciada por la OIT (Organizaci'on Internacional del Trabajo) y Por un Mundo Justo (No me Olvido que Fui Ni~no), grabada en social establishment y v'ideo, auspiciada por Pick up The Children, con motivo de la cumbre por la ni~nez a celebrarse en Nueva York en Mayo del 2002.

En Septiembre del 2003, Appleseed Copy lanz'o un keep a note "Spain in My Spotlight" donde Salvador musicaliz'o una letra de Garc'ia Lorca ("Noche Nochera") e interpret'o junto con su hermana Katia "Asturias" y "Noche Nochera", entre otras contribuciones de variados artistas internacionales como Pete Seeger & Arlo Guthrie, John McCutcheon, y otros.

En el 2003 encontramos "Verdadero Pan", el pen'ultimo 'ultimo social establishment de Guardabarranco, donde trece de los catorce temas son de la autor'ia de Salvador, fue nominado entre miles de participantes en la categor'ia "Formation Music" ("M'usica del Mundo") junto a cinco finalistas de los 60 escogidos en las 12 categor'ias que formaron parte de los premios para la m'usica ac'ustica independiente. En el a~no 2007 grab'o junto a su hermana Katia cuatro temas de su autor'ia para una campa~na anticorrupci'on en su pa'is.
