Someday I will learn not to read other people's thoughts on the nature of spirituality, the Gods and Goddesses, and just what we're here to do. I suspect that day is a long time off yet. In the meantime, occasional bits and pieces will continue to trigger the evolution of my thoughts on what the Gods and Goddesses are and why they choose to interact with us.

My working theory of the Gods and Goddesses, until now, has been that they exist on another plane of existence from us. Our realms are separated by what is commonly referred to as The Veil. AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE YEAR, MOST NOTABLY SAMHAIN AND BELTAINE, the Veil thins enough for travel between the realms with relative ease. On other days, humans and the Gods and Goddesses work together to bring each other across the Veil.

In their realm, I believe the Gods and Goddesses to be much like us. They have limitations that we don't when we travel there. On that side, we are much like Gods and Goddesses. Just as when they travel here through their connections to us, they have fewer limitations on their abilities than we do in our own existence. I'm not overly keen on the idea that the Gods and Goddesses are somehow better than us or more powerful than us. I don't believe that they are. Different from us, certainly, but not better.

So...what's the new part? Well...I've been in conversation with followers of a Feri Tradition, and I've been running into some interesting ideas. Ones that are, to a degree, complimentary to my own beliefs. At the same time, it's also challenging them and making them evolve.

It's very easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we're lesser than the Gods and Goddesses are. The vast majority of Americans have been brought up to think that God is something greater than we are and that we should worship that. What if that's wrong? What if *WE* are the Gods and Goddesses themselves, not victims, not playthings, not toys for them to pick up and put down like chess pieces? How would that change the outlook we have on who we are?

Let's stop here for a moment and take a look at my theory on the Gods and Goddesses and combine the two ideas. If the Gods and Goddesses exist in another plane of existence from us...and if we are the Gods and Goddesses, how do we go from this plane to the next? I would like to suggest that we, as humans, evolve into what we call Gods and Goddesses. Part of that evolution is the process from moving from this plane to the next. Once we get there, we can start to engage in the symbiotic relationship that brings the Gods and Goddesses to this plane and takes us to their realm.

Because I believe that what we are talking about when we speak of working with the Gods and Goddesses is TRULY A SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR ANCESTORS, those who have become Gods and Goddesses or are in the process of becoming Gods and Goddesses. If that's the case, what is the key to making the transition from one state of being to the other?

I think that the key is to be found within the concept of Feri's Black Heart of Innocence and in the Dahomean proverb that it spawned from: "How beautiful is the black lascivious purity in the hearts of children and wild animals..." If we look at both children and animals, they have several characteristics that we, as humans, have lost that I believe must be regained in order to obtain the purity of focus that we sometimes see within our Gods and Goddesses.

First, there is the pure instinct of animals in the wild. There is no morality in what they do, they simply act as they are created to act. To eat, predators must kill prey. To survive into the next generation, they must pass on their genes by finding a receptive partner. There is no ethical question regarding whether their actions are right or wrong. They simply do what it is that is in their nature to do.

Second, we have lost the innocence and imagination of the child as we've grown up. We are expected to outgrow the fantasies of our childhood for the more sophisticated world of deceit and appearances. We couldn't possibly run through the rain for the sheer joy of feeling it run over our bodies. Nor could we dress up in clothing meant for the "other" sex because it might make people think we are strange or different. No more do the unicorns dance in our dreams or the dragons fly through the night to take us away into worlds that exist only in the mind of a child.

These two elements, I believe, are key in finding our way back into the realm of the Gods and Goddesses, to becoming Gods and Goddesses ourselves. Until we can exist in that space where instinct is what drives us and imagination is what inspires us, we cannot achieve the key elements that it takes to become what we are meant to be. What a world it would be if we were able to dance with the Gods and Goddesses in a form fully equal to what they have become.

Or you may sense that some good things are happening to you as a result of some good karma you developed. But these are factors of intuition, and not necessarily a sign that you are psychic or have precognitive powers.

A true Psychic is someone who has developed sensitivity to the aura or thoughts of others.

Does that mean that a true Psychic can actually read your mind? In a lot of cases, the answer is "Yes". If you recognize that almost all of your thoughts emanate from your mind/aura (your brain controls your physical actions). In many cases, a true Psychic can detect the symbols someone else is looking at on a set of cards (I've seen true Psychics correctly name twelve out of twelve symbols on cards they could not see.) The reason they can do this is because someone is concentrating on a particular symbol and the Psychic is sensitive to that thought. However, it's thousands of times more difficult for even a true Psychic to know what you're thinking because, normally, thoughts flow so quickly that they cannot be understood and read like a book.

What about Psychics that claim to be able to speak with the dead? If we accept the basic truths that your mind/aura never dies and that all thoughts emanate from your mind/aura, it's logical that the thoughts of other mind/auras present in a room can also be detected by a true Psychic. But remember, as sensitive as they Psychic may be, he/she can only pick up the thoughts that are being concentrated on and not those that are rapidly flowing. Thus, showmen like John Edwards (who claim to speak with the dead) are, generally, good cold-readers and not true Psychics. Still, there are some true Psychics that can pick-up thoughts being concentrated on by the minds of the dead.

There are no clear lines to distinguish a fraud from a true Psychic but I've never met a true Psychic who made his/her living by using his/her psychic abilities.

So, how do psychic detectives work? A psychic detective will normally look at a photo of the person or something they wore or were close to and will send out thoughts to try and reach the dead person's mind/aura. Nothing travels faster than thought, and something similar to an Amber Alert goes out to try and find the mind/aura of that missing or dead person. If it succeeds, the mind/aura of the dead person will try to relate what happened to them to the Psychic. The thoughts from the dead person's mind/aura may be too rapid for the Psychic to understand everything, but certain images may stick with the Psychic and he/she will often be able to lead police to where a body is hidden or tell the police what actually happened. To a limited extent, communication with the dead is possible.

Can you make yourself more psychic or more sensitive to the thoughts of other minds/auras? The answer to this is an emphatic "Yes".

You can vastly improve your own sensitivity to the thoughts of others by practicing meditation or self-hypnosis. Either one will help clear the mind of the millions of daily influences and self-serving thoughts. And, as your mind clears, you will definitely become more sensitive to the thoughts of other minds/auras. In fact, if you seriously start practicing meditation or self-hypnosis, you will free your own mind/aura from the prison of mundane living and things like astral projection may start to occur. For many, many years, Halloween has been associated with witchcraft and evil. Satan's one night of the year to claim souls for Hell has been the belief of the church and pious individuals Halloween began as a pagan festival that celebrated nature and its gifts. It was believed that on this one night the boundaries between the living and the dead were compromised and Halloween spirits could walk the earth.. In an effort to appease the Halloween spirits, people would leave offerings of food and drink on their doorsteps. These Halloween customs were thought to protect their harvests for another year. This was also the time for a practice called "souling."

Souling involved food in exchange for prayers. During the celebration, poor people would take to begging for food from neighbours. This food was granted in exchange for prayers by the receivers for the souls of dead family members. As Halloween customs were was passed down, the begging became food left for these poor individuals who would continue to pray for the dead. Eventually, children were sent from house to house to receive food or bits of money for the family.

In some countries, the wearing of masks and receiving of gifts is still called "souling." Small food items or money are still received by children. Trick or treating is one of the modern, American Halloween customs. The first-ever recorded Halloween celebration in the United States occurred in Anoka, Minnesota, in 1921. That was the start of trick-or-treat, Halloween costume parties, and a series of activities depicting the essence of the celebration.

When it first started, trick or treating was just that. If a homeowner didn't provide treats, the costumed person (one of the most popular Halloween customs is dressing up) would perform some trick. This could be playing a prank on them or egging the house. In some countries, this is a part of the mischief of the Halloween spirits. Any Halloween spirit that didn't receive food was also likely to do something to the person of the house. It was in the year 1970 that the trick-or-treating tradition started to wane because of several rumours that some households were handing out harmful or poisonous treats to children. Today many parents accompany their children while trick-or-treating or organize private Halloween parties.

Now, kids go from house to house, saying this phrase and receiving a ton of sweet treats. People travel from neighbourhood to neighbourhood for sweet fare. Tricks are more a part of the fun of the night than a slight against any one person. If a neighbour is not participating, they turn out their porch light so children will know not to approach. Of course there are those mischief makers that egg houses and cars, but most neighbourhoods celebrate Halloween without incident. Even the adults get involved in Halloween customs with fog machines and costume parties.

In an effort to scare people, tales of the undead have been immortalized in books like Frankenstein and Dracula. Movies brought us Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and the Scream guy. People love to be scared, but so much of the fiction has been confused with fact that Christians have been led to believe that the practice of Halloween is evil for their children. Basically, children know what we tell them.. There are people who practice earth religions like Wicca and those who profess to be Satanists. They derive their greatest influence and media coverage on this night. Even those groups have been made gorier than they actually are through film and books. Our children will learn that the practice of dressing up and receiving candy is not evil from the knowledge that we obtain. Spirits are not roaming the streets looking to take over their bodies or mess with their minds. In fact, for little ones, it is essential that we not expose them to the scarier side because they could be traumatized by it and fear the fun side of Halloween. Christians have nothing to fear from Halloween as long as the truth is told. While there are groups who practice magic (the jury is still out) and contact with the dead, they don't have exclusive rights on Halloween. They practice their crafts all year round and not just this one night of the year.

Many people believe in the power of spells and ritual, and in the ability to make things happen with the power of your mind. There's no reason why these very simple and generic spells shouldn't be used to help you with the little things in life, too! Casting spells is not difficult. You just need to know what it is that you want to change and harvest the energy of the universe to help you. You don't need to pay a psychic, a medium or a shaman to cast a spell. Love spells, protection spells, prosperity spells and other spells can be created by you, free of charge. When you cast spells yourself, they are more likely to work, because your personal energy is what makes the magic start. Follow these steps to casting a spell that will change your life for the better.

Common Instruction to Casting Spells


Step 1. CREATE A SAFE BUBBLE FOR YOURSELF. The easiest way is to light a candle and stay within its glow. If you are casting a spell for someone who is with you, they should stay within the glow of the candle light as well. This helps the good energy to surround you and keep the bad energy away from you.
It is good to cast spells at night so that you can see the protective circle of light. For best results, cast your spell at the full moon. The energy pull of the earth is greatest at the full moon and since you are trying to change the energy forces by casting a spell, you want them to be at full magnitude.

Step 2. CAREFULLY CHOOSE THE GOAL OF YOUR SPELL. Casting a spell is a way of initiating change. It is not difficult to cast a spell, but you have to be sincere. Before you begin to cast a spell, decide what it is that you want to change. Is it a relationship? Do you want to change how someone feels about you? How about your financial situation? Do you want more money? Maybe you want to lose weight. Before you begin a spell, think about what it is that you want to change and what is holding you back. If you are casting a spell for yourself, close your eyes, hold your hands outstretched in front of you, palms facing upwards and slowly say the following 3 times:

Energy of the universe
Feel my energy.

Energy of the universe
Touch my energy.

Energy of the universe
Join with my energy to "Fill in the blank with what it is that you want to accomplish. For example: Do you want to make someone fall in love with you? Then say "Join with my energy to make John fall in love with me." Do you want to cast a spell that will help you lose weight? Say, "Join with my energy to help me lose 10 pounds."

Step 3. HOLD HANDS OR A PERSONAL ITEM IF CASTING A SPELL FOR SOMEONE ELSE. If you are doing the spell for someone else, hold their hand and both of you should close your eyes and raise your palms to the sky. If the person for whom you are doing the spell can't be there, you should hold something of theirs in your hands so their energy is present. You can have a ring, a piece of hair, a glass they drank out of, a hairbrush, piece of clothing, etc. It really doesn't matter what you use as long as that person had contact with it. Then say:

"Energy of the universe
Feel my energy.

Touch my energy.

Fill in the first blank with the name of the person for whom you are doing the spell and fill in the second blank with the reason for the spell. For example, do you want to help your friend get good grades? Then say "Join with my energy and Carl's energy to help him get an A from his math teacher."

Step 4. WRITE DOWN WHAT IS STOPPING YOU FROM REACHING YOUR GOAL. After you say the spell verses above three times, write on a small piece of paper (about the size of a post it note) what is holding you back from your goal. If you want someone to fall in love with you, write down what is stopping that from happening. If you want more money, write down what is keeping money from you.

If you are casting a spell for someone else, ask them to think about what is stopping them from accomplishing their goal. For example: Sara asks you to cast a love spell on John because she wants him to fall in love with her. The barrier to that might be: John is in love with Joan. Write "Joan is keeping John from falling in love with Sara" on the paper.

Step 5.BURN THE PAPER TO SEND OFF YOUR SPELL. Once you are finished writing the barrier to the goal, fold the paper in half, then in half again. Using the flame from your lit candle, set the paper on fire and drop it in a dish or container that will not burn. Let the paper burn completely on its own. Do not blow it out. While it is burning say:

"Move beyond my sphere of influence and remove the barriers to my wishes.
Move beyond the forces of this world and dissolve the boundaries that limit my will.
Move beyond the edges of reason and go to the limits of the universe where all things are possible and cast my spell."

Step 6. CHECK THE ASHES FOR THE RESULT OF YOUR SPELL. Once the fire has gone out, check to see if the paper has completely turned to ash. If there is any area that is not burned, that means that the spell will not work. Either you or the person for whom you are doing the spell is not sincere, or the universe is saying no to your request at this time. You will have to try again at a later time.

Think of reasons why the spell didn't work. Did you sincerely think about the all barriers to your goal? Are you sure you understand the complete consequences to your request? Maybe the universe is trying to get you to think about something that you have not fully grasped at this time or don't want to think about.

If the paper has blackened completely by the time the fire goes out, that means that the energy forces are now moving in your favor. Focus on your goal in order to keep the positive energy flowing. If you create negative energy before the spell works its magic, you will create barriers to the fulfillment of the spell, and you may have to start over again.

Tips to Casting Spells


* Spells are only effective if you believe them to be. If you want your magic to work, you need to have faith in yourself. It's all about perception and willpower.
* One key thing to remember is to try and stop your mind from thinking about anything apart from the spell.
* If you are trying to cast a spell and it isn't working make sure you truly want that to happen, if you don't the spell will most likely not work because you won't be using as much willpower as you would have been.

Warnings to Casting Spells


* You can cast a black spell on someone, but you must be careful that some of the negative energy doesn't come back to you. When you cast love spells or prosperity spells for others, the good white magic has a chance of spilling over on you, and you may find yourself in love or winning the lottery. The same is true for black spells. The negative energy can spill over on you creating havoc in your life. Think carefully before you create negative energy by casting black spells. They can't be controlled as easily as white spells. Somehow when you send negative energy out into the world, it has a way of finding you, even though you have sent it to someone else. Is the black spell you are thinking of creating, worth the possible trouble it will bring you?
* If you are just doing it for fun, don't bother - it won't work for a party trick. Keep in mind that its a spirit/will thing.
* If you follow it, remember the Threefold Law when working a spell. What you put out, be it magical or not, comes back to you threefold.
* There is a posibility these spells may not work.
* Simple Rule: If you send evil out, it will come back knocking on your door.

"Call Me" Spell

You will need:


* A piece of parchment or fine quality writing paper
* A black marker
* A needle

1. Using your marker, inscribe the name of the person you want to call, on the paper. Write it in a circle twice, so the ends meet.
2. As you do this, concentrate on the person's face and your desire that they call you.
3. While still concentrating, put a needle through the center of the circle created by the name.
4. Place the charm by the phone.
5. The call will come within 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days, depending how well the spell was cast!

Easy Love Spell


This spell is easy- just say the following words and concentrate on the one you love:

"Earth and Sea,
Keep harm from me.
Wind and Fire,
Bring my desire."

Finding Spell


Concentrate on thinking about the thing that you lost, then say these words:

This is a spell that is supposed to get your crush to kiss you!
You will need:

* A red candle
* A white piece of paper
* A red-colored lipstick or a glittery pink one

1. Light the red candle (be careful).

3. Hold the paper over the candle and think of the person you want to kiss you.
4. Visualize you both kissing and falling in love, while you chant:

4. Pull the pin out and stick it through both pictures again, this time at the level of your hearts, saying "Heart to heart."

2. The different colors represent goals and needs, the white candle binds them all together.
