A Tale Of Immortality And Rebirth

A Tale Of Immortality And Rebirth Image
The goddess, Anat, lived among the people of many lands and was known by many different names, but no matter what we may call Her, She was once considered to be the Mother of all the nations of the world. Anat was such a powerful goddess, that even her mate, the mighty Thor-El, cringed in terror when She cornered him in his own house to demand that he build temples for her brother, Baal, whom she felt was being ignored. And later, when she learned of her brother's death at the hands of Mot, there was to be no appeasing this goddess who was known for already slaining those gods and dragons who had threatened the peace of Her world, and wherever men roamed, even to the farthest shores of the sea, Anat was to be feared, so we can just imagine the fury she felt when Mot killed her brother.

The raging goddess descended from the heavens and fell upon Mot, slashing him in two with Her sword. Then, She hurled his dismembered parts into the fire, ground them into powder, and cast it onto the ground. With Her terrible revenge complete, She then lay down beside Her brother's corpse and grieved. And from Her mourning, out of Her life giving tears, Baa was reborn and stood alive again. In gratitude, he knelt before her and gazed upon Her two great horns and praised Her strength.
