Observe the cycles of the stars in your area. In the past, people from many cultures observed and named shapes and symbols they perceived in the patterns of the stars. Modern constellations derive from Greek, Roman, and even Middle Eastern perceptions, but there are other options to choose from. You can create your own "zodiac" by exploring the shapes created by the stars in the night sky. Take into account the cycles of nature, birds and animals, and sacred and mythological symbols or figures and see what shape you can perceive in the stars. Note their relationship to each other and to the Moon. What feelings does this arouse? Write about it in your journal.
