3. Ask the person(s) officiating at a ritual before you place anything in the ritual area; wear clothing or tools which might be considered unusual; or add private energy work-ings to the ritual being done.

Basic Precept Of Astrology

The basic precept of Astrology has been summed up with the phrase "As Above, So Below." What is displayed in the heavens is said to be mimicked on Earth.

Astrologers once believed that the planets, luminaries, and stars introduced a force or influence upon earthly creatures and events. One may easily imagine a Wise Man (or Woman, aka. the Essenes) standing on his palatial balcony in 5,000 B.C.E., gazing intently up at the night sky, carefully noting the passage of heavenly bodies. These notes would then be compared to the events of the Kingdom, realm, of region.

If events of the current period matched previous events, the Magi would expect similar planetary configurations in the heavens. If the events of the period were original, careful notes would be made for future study. These notes would of necessity been closely guarded and secret, least they fall into the hands of a rival.

There are accounts of Wise Men (Magi, Astrologer, same thing) who gained great power through contrived, controlling predictions that were not later born out in reality. These gentlemen and women usually lost their heads, but many lost their gonads- quite literally. Job security fell to those who new their profession well or could talk very fast.

Many religious cults, as cults today, frowned upon astrology schools. The students were not conforming to what was religiously demanded of them by those in power, and were often hacked to pieces for their efforts.

There is a story told by a woman who was "regressed" to a "past life," where she was a Astrology student. Those who were in her group were all male youths under the tutelage of one purple robed Teacher. Late one night while they were going about their business learning the Hieros Logoi (sacred accounts), another group who practiced religious intolerance decided to do a little butchering the same night.

The oldest known astrology "chart" only had eight signs. House systems were added later. It was square, and the planetary bodies had to be placed precisely on the paper so that a straight edged graduated "ruler" could be used to determine aspects. It seems that the "equal" or "fixed" house system was the one used.

With the advent of "houses," the astrologer could determine which arena of life was to be involved. It seems reasonable that the number of houses should match the number of Signs in the Zodiac, right? Well, not really. There were usually eight houses used, even when the number of Signs grew to twelve.

Today the most popular methods of Astrology use twelve Signs and houses, using the Tropical Zodiac in the West, Geocentric (Earth centered). There are many variations available. One may use Heliocentric (Sun centered) astrology, or use the Sidereal Zodiac (which takes into account the precession of the Equinox).

There are many popular houses systems in use today as well. Porphyrus (spelling differs) was a poet, astrologer, and scholar in ancient times. He came up with a house system called "Porphyry," though I don't know anyone who uses it.

Most astrologers today tend to believe that the heavenly bodies do not reach down and push us about. Rather, the planets, luminaries, and stars "mimic" Earthly events. Synchronistic in nature, they correlate instead of dictate. This hands one's fate back to the individual, to augment or squander as one sees fit. The slight comfort of Fate has been replaced by responsibility for one's actions.

A few astrologers still portend death and destruction from the "astrological chart." This mode of thinking (a belief pattern based on preconceived ideas) is almost extinct. One may stay on the rail road tracks, deeming it "fate" has said one must be mashed by the train, or one may say "Screw it," and step to the side and let fate pass. It is one's right and responsibility to take charge of one's life events.

Still, one always has the right to be squashed by one's "trains." If you refuse to drink, you are allowed to die of thirst. It's your right.

The perceptions of "Fate Versus Free Will" seems to lean towards "free will" for the individual in the current astrological community, but the question of the "Fate of Nations," and the rulers of Nations, is still hotly disputed.

There are arguments that a Nation must follow what is "Fated," and that those closely connected to that Nation are heavily minified in their rights to act freely. It is well documented that a Nation in trouble always produces a single individual to correct the problem.

Abe Lincoln believed in Fate, and was said to know when he would die and how. Did he have the Right to choose? Since he was closely connected to the United States and the Civil War, I doubt it.

Kennedy chose to ignore warnings from "psychics," we've been told to believe, and ended up slaughtered on national television, presumably by the hand of Cuba, Castro. But did he have a choice? I believe not.

Someone ponderously, corpulently, grossly into religious intolerance mentioned to me that "The One True God destroys Nations," while individuals destroy themselves, I will add. Bending his idea of "God" to a non anthropomorphic deity, we could say that "The Universe" takes care of nations and leaves the individual to fend for her or his self.

Astrology does not predict. It points to probabilities, not unequivocal, assured events. Any likely event can be circumnavigated if one knows about it first. This is why I believe Astrology to be the single most useful tool for taking responsibility for one's life.

The question "Is Astrology valid?" is one that I cannot answer competently. It is always best to question everything, and take nothing as it is offered (without the arena of astrology as well as within). I leave this question to others for exploration.

The answer to the often asked question, "Is there God in Buddhism?" is first No and then Yes.

Its definitely No for those who like to imagine God as an old man with long white beard living somewhere above the cloud in a place called Heaven. Buddha was not interested that petty, absurd personification. Nor he was for idols. In the time of Buddha (around 500 BCE) it was already a land where God ideal was filtered through limited imaginations and turned to man made idols. Buddha himself was big against idol worship and would strongly disapprove those who make and bowdown to his statues. Although many fragments of imagination of God ideal was there in his time, yet people were fighting over 'your God vs. my God' delusion (which still humanity as a whole hasn't really come out of even about 2500 years later). One can safely say that there is no idea of God in Buddhism when best people could do is to associated limited human attributes with the Divine and could not grasp the absolute transcendent nature of the Divine.

Because historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama didn't entertain the question of God directly doesn't mean he negated the concept of God. Buddha by no mean was an atheist. He didn't entertain the question of God and any creation myth because people were fighting over ethnocentric imagination and idol centric God ideals and it didn't solve their problems. Buddha's spiritual genius was to help people see their divine nature within and to achieve the perfection through the cultivation of that true nature which he called 'return to original nature'. His mission was to find the simple truth in life which helps people achieve freedom from sufferings.

Every world teacher when they appear they negate and reform the already dead, old tradition. If we take the example of Jesus Christ, he faced enormous challenges from the Jewish religion which badly needed reform and fresh vision at his time. Since Judaism was filled with "dont do this", "dont do that", hundreds of complicated rules, lists after lists for sabbath and other rituals - the whole religion became a shell devoid of spirit. Naturally Christ was not interested in those rules and hundreds of regulations. So we find Christ teaching is not about rules and regulation about what to do and not to do on certain day of week or years but transcending beyond those.

Similar was the case of Buddha. Just like Christ who strongly and openly criticized the pharisees and doctors of religion of his time who monopolized the religion, so did Buddha dismissed the limited imagination of the so called religious doctors of his time as "foolish talk", as "ridiculous, mere words, a vain and empty thing". For Buddha the notion that the false, ego centric Brahmins (the priestly caste), who have not realized Brahma, can teach others how to achieve union with - is something to criticize about. This is not a denial of the existence of Brahma, but a radical vision and attempt to discover the truth from a different dimension, starting first with discarding that which doesn't hold the truth: the limited notion about God.

Wahiduddin writes in his article Buddha leading us to God: "He saw that on-going arguments over whether or not "my god is better than your god" were not bringing insight to mankind, but were actually resulting in painful division, misunderstanding, hatred and violence. He saw that instead of the people's belief in Brahman bringing them together in peace, their religion often led to petty bickering over which gods, goddesses and attributes were superior. Siddhartha also noted that many unenlightened teachers were leading the people astray and using either the love of God or the wrath of God as the reason for every action. But that approach was leading only to more pain and suffering. Over time, Siddhartha was shown that there was another path, a path that would rise far above and beyond such arguments, divisiveness and hatred."

If we place Buddha in his unique time and culture in which he was raised, we will come to appreciate why his teachings were not theo-centric. The hindu religious tradition in which Buddha was born already had a very mature understanding of all pervading Brahma (Divine). Buddha rephrased the absolute transcendence aspect of Brahma which is non-describable, which is beyond word and called it the Ultimate Reality, the Ultimate Goal, the Ultimate Void or Sunnyata. As a mystic Buddha very well knew that the Ultimate Reality is beyond word; every attempt to describe that Reality must come to fail, hence he maintained his silence on the direct question of God. But in his teaching, the concept of Sunnyata, the Great Void (Emptiness) is the pointer to That Which is Unspeakable.

Infact the description of Buddha's Emptiness is not far from how Brahma (God) is described in hindu sacred scripture Upanishad. Here is a comparison:

In the highest golden sheath is Brahman, stainless, without parts; Pure is it, the light of lights. This is what the knowers of the Self know. The sun shines not there, nor the moon and stars, these lightnings shine not, where then could this fire be? His shining illumines all this world. Brahman, verily, is this Deathless. - Mundaka Upanishad

And Buddha's teaching recorded in Buddhist scripture of the description of Emptiness as: (Emptiness is) where water, earth, heat and wind find no footing, there no stars gleam, no sun is made visible, there shines no moon, there the darkness is not found; When the sage, the brahmin, himself in wisdom knows this place he is freed from the form and formless realms, from happiness and suffering. - the Udana

In some major traditions of Mahayana Buddhism (the Tathagatagarbha and Pure Land streams of teaching) there is a notion of The Buddha as the Omnipresent, Omniscient, Liberative Essence of Reality (not the historical Buddha, but The Buddha). The Buddha is spoken of as generators of vast "pure lands", "Buddha lands", or "Buddha paradises", in which beings will unfailingly attain Nirvana.

The concept of Adi-Buddha or Primordial Awakened One is present there in Buddhism which is also notion of the Divine. The concept of Adi-buddha is from the Kalachakra (Cycle of Time) teachings in Buddhism. As presented in the Nyingma, Kagyu, and Sakya schools of Tibetan Buddhism, Adi-buddha is beyond words, beyond concepts, unimaginable. That exactly is the Transcendence attribute of the Divine, its just the difference in terminology but in essence the concept of the Divine Reality is there.

The "God idea" forms the part of Theravada where refuge in Buddha is the supreme and unequaled refuge which allows release from all suffering - with the "deathless realm of Nirvana" a hint of an impersonal, transcendental Absolute.

A further name for this irreducible, time-and-space-transcending mysterious Truth or Essence of Buddhic Reality is the Dharmakaya (Body of Truth).

The term Amitabha Buddha reserved for the Most Supreme concept in Mahayana School of Buddhism and also Pure Land Buddhism is simply translatable as "Fully Conscious Infinite Light". Does it ring a bell?

Zen Buddhism goes deeper where it incorporate the Mysteriousness of God. Zen master Sokei-An said: The creative power of the universe is not a human being; it is Buddha (Completely Awakened Consciousness). The one Who Sees, and the one who Hears, is not this eye or ear, but the One who is this Consciousness. This One is Buddha. This One appears in every mind. This One is common to all sentient beings, and is God.

Some mystics love to interpret the affirmation of divine reality, "La ilaha illaLla" as "no thing truly exists but Absolute". And Buddha, a mystic himself - two major theme of his teaching are Impermanence and Emptiness. Impermanence (anitta) is about the fact that every "thing" in this manifest world of creation is always rising and passing away, coming and going, its very outer reality is made with impermanence and everything is ephemeral; and literally la ilaha means, "no thing" is worthy of worship. This was also a part of Buddha's teaching where he shunned worship of all man made idols and objects calling them useless.

Also Emptiness or Sunyata can be seen as a quality of the Absolute. Sunyata means when every 'thing' else efface and only That which remains. The concept of Emptiness in Buddha's teaching embodies the Divine paradox as stated in Heart Sutra: "Hear, O Sariputra, emptiness is form; form is emptiness. Apart from form, emptiness is not; apart from emptiness, form is not. Emptiness is that which is form, form is that which is emptiness." (from Emptiness or the Essence comes everything, hence form is emptiness, emptiness is form).

Similar mystical quality of the Divine is also found in theistic religious tradition when Divine is described with similar paradox: "The Divine encompasses everything and nothing encompasses the Divine." Also the Divine is seen as the Source of all and its quality is not created, it is ever living without a beginning or an end.

In Heart Sutra again we read: "Hear, O Sariputra, all phenomena of existence are marked by Emptiness: not arisen, not destroyed,... not deficient."

So the concept of the Divine is present there in Buddhism, but since its not a personalized picture of God, hence rest of the traditions (specially those from who has personified picture of God) have a hard time grasp this Divine Reality which is beyond the idea of beyond.

The great mystic Mansur al-Hallaj said: "You know and are not known; You see and are not seen."

Cyber Wicca-the art of living that integrates rational and irrational process through mythopoetic structures primarily from Wicca, then neo-Paganism and other related religious belief systems. It should incorporate knowledge from newer and emerging humanistic sciences. Principles of ethical self-programming as written of by Timothy Leary, John Lilly, Robert Anton Wilson, Antero Alli, and John Hyatt should be incorporated into the relational processes, those setting between solar and lunar knowledge.

It should be a political-religious-psychological system to support and meet the needs of individuals who feel both a romantic and classical approach is needed in their life. These needs could be formatted into solar and lunar knowledge bases, rational, irrational and relational process could all be used to a maximal degree.

Cyber Wicca could incorporate many of the concepts contained in Humanist Manifesto II.

Cyber Wicca should be a newer religious system that is more importantly a mode of thinking. Smart thinking usually leads to smart living. Additionally the application of Cyber Wicca to mundane life should be easy and seamless. Instead of taking the individual out of the social complex it should enable them to integrate easily with the social complex.

Cyber Wicca should appeal to the atheist as well as the religionist as it focuses upon mythopoetic stories and structures and the mystical connections between what is and is not seen, as opposed to dogmatic theoretical structures.

Theoretical structures could be included as long as they are considered metaphorical structures or models existing within the human mind first and foremost. These structures can then be used to ferret out deep personal meaning.

Kingdoms or Domains are used metaphorically. More properly they represent areas of interest. Higher and lower relate to density of item more than social, cultural or ethical placement. Higher and lower display some cultural heritage. Higher should normally refer to more dense, thus would usually be considered the Lower Kingdoms in spirit focused theoretical structures.

"External (Public) Faces"

Religious Aspects--Low Domain

The low domain or Kingdom, the basis of the religious belief system, should reflect WoMankind's ethical relationship to their home planet. The Earth can be personified or considered the Grandmother or Mother of WoMankind, depending upon personal focus. It could be called Mom, Mother or the Matrix, the space enabling the existence of all physical and non-physical local planetary lifeforms. [The solar processes could consider this a "self check" to prohibit WoMankind from polluting their environment to the detriment of all lifeforms.]

Other Matrixes may exist. Cyber Wicca should be concerned with local planetary manifestations without denying the existences of other Matrixes.

Other personified or romantic entities could exist within the matrix. These could be the Lady and Lord and be more important or of a relatively more immediate nature being seen as doorways to other entities; other spaces, physical energetic natures or psychic spaces.

Working of the Craft--Mid Domain

The metaphorical mid domain or Middle Kingdom could be the workings of the Craft. At the beginning level the emphasis could be upon the physical. Special tools could be selected for an individual or group. These tools may or may not reflect traditional usage but should be more appropriate for a culture and/or geographical locale than for a traditional usage.

Special robes may be appropriate. Nudity could be more useful for metaprogramming. The individuals background should be considered before choosing tools or coverings. If the individual were normally a naturist the metaprogramming tool could be robes, etc.

Tools and rituals could be used for immediate metaprogramming efforts. Dramatic ritual could be used to advantage for both individual programming or group alignment.

Experiments in communication with non-physical or discarnate entities could be a major focus. New modes of relationship in sexual or emotional life could be incorporated providing members feel comfortable with the activities. Safety, both physical and emotional, should be paramount. Training of individuals for incorporation may be needed to assist them in their growth into unknown areas.

Physical Sciences Incorporated--High Domain

The metaphorical high domain or Kingdom could be the human and physical knowledge systems, ie, health (birthing, child care and physical health), nutritional, exercise, cosmetic and creative knowledge systems, ie. sewing, cooking, building sciences, gardening and organic farming techniques, and personal defense techniques.

Cyber Wicca could define the extent or degree of immersion in a Domain. The individual or group could decide for themselves what extent they need to go.

Organization

Cyber Wicca could attempt to incorporate proven techniques of cell or smaller group management while retaining intimacy. Cyber Wiccan leaders could be of either sex, of any sexual preference, but must be emotionally sound. They may choose their own names and titles. Or Cyber Wicca may assign a title in order to establish a somewhat formalized but unrestricted tradition.

Group or cell size should be held to about 2 to 15. However any number of cell members may be used providing genuine intimacy is maintained.

Cyber Wicca should attempt to meet the economic and political needs of its members. Resources are available that address political activities in cells. An economic base must be established in Cyber Wiccan method. Should a social threat arise individual members may need to support themselves in a strange or different environment. Personal enrichment and empowerment as opposed to personal aggrandizement should be the focus enabling the member to live well in any difficult or strange economic or political environment.

"Internal Faces"

These are internal considerations not usually presentable to the public at large. Pearls are delicate, we need not dirty them. Internal faces can be determined at a later time.
