Our Moon wisdom will grow through our commitment to experiencing and understanding the energies of the great lady. And, as with all relationships in our lives, our connection to the Moon will be a deeply personal and endlessly growing interaction. Watch the comings and goings of the Moon just as those who came before us have always done. Begin by taking the time to notice what phase the Moon is in and where She is in the sky at the time you have chosen to greet Her. You will find that over time you will begin to tune to Her changing rhythms, and as you continue observe and to honor Her cycles, you will find yourself aligning more closely to the lunar energies.
So, starting now, take time some time out of your busy day to greet Her. Look up into the sky and find Her face in the Heavens above. Remember, some days you will need to seek Her out during the light of day. Then, open your arms and your heart to Her and greet Her as you would greet a dear friend. Allow yourself to stir with connection to Her light and beauty. Speak words of greeting and gratitude to the lovely lady who guides us.
To Make a Wish Come True
Draw the sign of the waxing Moon with a thorn onto a short, fat beeswax candle (a white votive candle is perfect.) Light the candle, gaze into the flame, and concentrate on your wish as you chant:
"GRACIOUS LADY MOON"
"EVER IN MY SIGHT,"
"KINDLY GRANT THE BOON"
"I ASK OF THEE TONIGHT."
"BLOW OUT THE FLAME, BUT HOLD ITS LIGHT IN YOUR MIND FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN. AN ANSWER WILL BE REVEALED TO YOU."
