Create a lunar calendar based on your observations of nature. Even if you live in the city, you can record which birds stay year round and which migrate, note which plants bloom along the streets, highways, or in urban parks. It is surprising how much nature can be found in the urban areas if you are paying attention to it. You can watch the stars pass in the sky. In making your calendar, divide the year into lunar months and name those based on natural events or other symbolic or spiritual associations (Frost moon, Bud Moon, etc.). Observe the weather patterns, plants, trees, flowers, animals, stars, planets, and the winds. Devise a method to keep the lunar calendar aligned with the solar year.
