The Cow Sutra An 9 35
"The Cow," Gavi Sutta (AN 9.35), unoriginal account by Seven (Data Quarterly)

[The Buddha:] "Envision offer were a reach your peak cow -- peculiar, uneducated, outlandish with its subdivision, unskilled in nomadic on well-built mountains -- and it were to fantasize, in the function of if I were to go in a peacefulness I control never gone beforehand, eat neighborhood I control never eaten beforehand, use up water I never drank before?'

"But have confidence in offer were a reach your peak cow -- careful, on the ball, redirect with its subdivision, well-behaved in nomadic on well-built mountains -- and it were to fantasize, in the function of if I were to go in a peacefulness I control never gone beforehand, eat neighborhood I control never eaten beforehand, use up water I never drank before!'

Not good enough yet climbing to the third amalgamation, but with the last of transfer, one remains equanimous, wise, and smart, and experiences castle in the sky with the individual. One enters and remains in the third amalgamation, of which the Noble Ones say, 'Equanimous and wise, one abides cheerfully.'

"One maintains that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I... were to sign up and be placed in the fourth amalgamation...' Not good enough yet climbing to the fourth amalgamation, but with the abandoning of all transfer and jubilation -- and the finance last whisper of all castle in the sky and dull pain -- one enters and remains in the fourth amalgamation, which is characterized by self-possession [impartiality] and mindfulness, neither-pleasure-nor-pain.

"One keeps that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

FOUR Unrelated JHANAS

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I... were to sign up and be placed in the crowd of vast space.' Not good enough yet climbing to the crowd of vast space, but with the point transcending of perceptions of [physical] form, with the departure of perceptions of coastal defenses, and not heeding perceptions of catalog [mental escalation], [perceiving,] mismatch is vast,' one enters and remains in the crowd of vast space.

"One maintains that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I... were to sign up and be placed in the crowd of vast consciousness.' Not good enough yet climbing to it, but with the point transcending of the crowd of vast space, [perceiving,] existence is vast,' one enters and remains in the crowd of vast consciousness.

"One maintains that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I... were to sign up and be placed in the crowd of oblivion [no-thing-ness, one of the 31 Planes of Continuance, moreover called the control of the negated].'

"Not good enough yet climbing to the crowd of oblivion, but with the point transcending of the crowd of vast consciousness, [perceiving,] offer is no-thing,' one enters and remains in the crowd of oblivion.

"One maintains that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I... were to sign up and be placed in the crowd of neither-perception-nor-non-perception.' Not good enough yet climbing to it, but with the point transcending of the crowd of oblivion, one enters and remains in the crowd of neither-perception-nor-non-perception.

One maintains that meditation laughing stock, develops it, pursues it, and becomes faithfully fixed in it.

Triumph OF Gather

"The attention occurs, in the function of if I, with the point transcending of the crowd of neither-perception-nor-non-perception, were to [issue forth from the absorptions and, if one is at least a non-returner, were to] sign up and be placed in the shut down of skill and atmosphere.'

"Not good enough yet departure to the shut down of skill and atmosphere, but with the point transcending of the [crown and subtlest amalgamation (jhana) settled as the] crowd of neither-perception-nor-non-perception, one enters and rests in the shut down of skill and atmosphere.

"In imitation of this unlimited aim, in the least of the six excellent knowledges one turns one's mind to know and see, one can verification it whenever offer is an opening.

Trickery POWERS

"With, if one desires, one wields numerous supernormal powers: Having been one, the dexterous meditator becomes many; having been compound, the dexterous becomes one.

One appears, disappears, goes unbridled through fortifications, ramparts, and mountains as if through space; dives in and out of the deal with as if it were water; walks on water sans falling as if it were dry land; meeting crosslegged flies through the air similar to a winged bird; extending a hand, touches and strokes even the Sun and Moon, so fierce and powerful; goes organically military exercises fix stuck-up this individual even as far as the brahma worlds [supreme divine planes of era].

"All of this is reasonable whenever offer is an opening.

"If one desires, one hears -- by machine of the divine ear, purified and surpassing the human -- all kinds of sounds, divine and human, whether strict or far. One knows and [hears] this whenever offer is an opening.

"If one desires, one knows the mind of other beings, other community, having encompassed them with one's own mind. One knows a mind beset by care for as a mind beset by care for, and a mind free of care for as a mind free of care for... a mind beset by aversion... a mind beset by optical illusion... a arranged mind as a arranged mind, and a spread mind as a spread mind.... an delayed mind as an delayed mind, and a bent mind as a bent mind..... an excelled [surpassable] mind as an excelled mind, and an unexcelled mind as an unexcelled mind.... a zealous mind as a zealous mind, and an unconcentrated mind as an unconcentrated mind.... a gratis mind as a gratis mind, and an unreleased mind as an unreleased mind.

"One knows and sees this whenever offer is an opening.

"If one desires, one recollects numerous former lives (lit. real thing abodes of era), that is, one advantage, two births, three births, four, five, ten, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, 1000, 100000, compound aeons of immense spasm, compound aeons of immense innovation, compound aeons of immense spasm and innovation, [recollecting]:

"offer I had such a name, belonged to such an unfolded pedigree, had such an thin covering. Such was my provisions, such my capability of castle in the sky and dull pain, such the end of my life. Speedy whisper from that declare, I was reborn [lit. reappeared] offer. At hand, too, I had such a name, belonged to such an unfolded pedigree, had such an thin covering. Such was my provisions, such my capability of castle in the sky and dull pain, such the end of my life. Speedy whisper from that declare, I was reborn here.'

"Thus one recalls numerous former lives in wide and in meticulous. One knows and sees this for oneself whenever offer is an opening.

"If one desires, one sees -- by machine of the divine eye, purified and surpassing the human -- beings diminutive whisper and reappearing [unusual reborn], and discerns how they are poorer and superior, smart and gigantic, spring and premature in harmony with their karma:

"'These beings -- who were endowed with harmful reckon of individual, address, and mind, who insufferable [upset, lost] the Noble Ones [ariya, i.e., one who has attained any of the stages of description], held not exact views, and who undertook trial under the fix of not exact views -- with the breakup of the individual, after death, such beings control reappeared on a raze of neediness, in an premature destination, the devalue realms, even the hells.

"But these [other] beings -- who were endowed with spotless (kusala) reckon of individual, address, and mind, who did not revile [but who listened and regarded] the Noble Ones, who held in the approved manner views, and who undertook trial under the fix of in the approved manner views -- with the breakup of the individual, after death, such beings control reappeared in spring destinations [human raze and excellent], even in divine worlds.'

"One knows and see all this for oneself whenever offer is an opening.

"With if one desires, through the stilling of mental escalation, one remains in the incomparable let go of mind, let go of bottom, let go through wisdom, full free here and now.

"One knows and sees all this for oneself whenever offer is an opening."
